This is made of 10 peyote stitched leaves, 6 of which are embellished with small branches of red Gütermann glass beads acting as current berries. The leaves are connected with short Ndebele cords ending with a loop. Both halves of the necklace are linked with a dense cluster of red berries clinking to their branches. The cluster is made with the coraling or branched fringe technique. The necklace was beaded in August 2007 at the time we harvested black and red current berries. I was impressed with the beauty of the berry clusters and had an idea to create a necklace.
