Twiggy by Myrna Carr

A photo of an item called Twiggy

The doll "Twiggy" was made because I like to have an 'ongoing project' and really enjoy the way the dolls evolve. She took 9 months to complete. I'll now have to start a new project as I'll really miss working on Twiggy.

The Dolls name of "Twiggy" came about because of her twig hair do which represents bare branches on trees in Autumn. I began with a wooden body. After that I just worked step by step and allowed 'her' to tell me the next step. I began by forming a beaded base to work onto. The rest of it just evolved and grew. Maybe a more apt name would have been "Topsy" as she just grew and grew as time went on.
