BWG Bunting for National Beading Week
Whenever the Guild is at a show, almost everybody's first question is "Is there are group near me?"
So we thought why not have this information loud and proud and on display, but obviously we need your help.
Invitation to groups
We would you like you to make a 'flag' with your group name and location to add to our BWG bunting?
The idea is that we have a BWG flag as per sample shown, followed by a slightly larger group flag. It will look amazing if we can get folk onboard and beading. It would be fantastic to have some on display at The Great British Bead Show to promote National Beading Week.
So if you fancy joining in please contact Sylvia Fairhurst: email@example.com to register your intention to make a either a group flag or BWG flag or perhaps even both.

1914 - 1918 Memorial Poppies Update
Wow, what a spectacle, many BWG members turned out for the unveiling of the WW1 commemorative beaded poppy wreath at the National Arboretum on Sunday 3rd August.
Pam Kirk and her right hand woman Dorothy have worked very hard to bring this project to fruition. The Beadworkers Guild was represented by several trustees, and many members with friends and family present to witness the unveiling, I estimated over 60 people present.
Members from all over the globe contributed poppies and did a brilliant job to achieve the 454 poppies that make up the wreath, one for every life lost in Afghanistan since 2010 and one for Lee Rigby who was killed in London .
The wreath contains over 1 million tiny glass beads, it measures 1 metre in diameter and will be on display at the Arboretum until the end of October in the Long Gallery, in November it will be moved into the Chapel. http://www.thenma.org.uk/
A fantastic response from our members, you can all be very proud that the aim was achieved. Hundreds and hundreds of people will see this tribute as it was in place before all the ‘official tributes’ by the armed services, so well done everyone and hats off to Pam and Dorothy and a special thanks to Janet Weeks for her foresight and suggestion.
