Keep Busy Beading

Inspired by this antique sampler necklace, here’s an idea to keep you busy beading while stuck at home during the coronavirus outbreak.

We have put together a collection of designs for ribbons of beadwork in Peyote stitch. They can be a great way of using up odds and ends of beads in your stash.

One ribbon can be made as a bracelet or wristband, several can be joined end to end to make a necklace or lariat, two or three can be joined widthways to make a cuff or join lots together to create a beaded sampler.

Below are numerous pages of charted patterns for Peyote Ribbons. There is also a page of blank Peyote charts (from 9 beads wide to 13 beads wide) so that you can design your own ribbons.

Just flip the charts to portrait and work the narrow width of the ribbons, either full length or just work small sections of different charts to make you own sampler necklace.

This is an open source project for everyone to join in, you don’t need to be a member of the Guild. Feel free to share your Peyote Ribbons designs, too, and we will upload them to the website for everyone to enjoy.

Share your progress, share your designs, share your project ideas and let’s all keep busy beading together in these difficult times.
